How Soon Is Now - When Is It Time To Ask Her Out?

In many aspects of life, timing is everything. This is often true when it comes to relationships and dating. Ask too soon and you risk scaring the person off. Wait too long to ask and you risk missing out altogether.

When it comes to relationships and dating, timing is responsible for ruining many opportunities. Sometimes, you meet a woman who just got out of a long-term relationship or had a very bad break-up. Other times, you might meet a woman who has just experienced a family tragedy or one who is simply not looking to become romantically involved with anyone at that time.

If you meet a certain someone who you think you would like to ask out on a date, time it right because everything from the day of the week and time of day to go out, to the length of a date needs to be carefully considered. What follows is a list of things to consider when the dreaded "D" word comes up.

  • There are only two days in a weekend, but five during the week. When picking a day for your date, try a weekday. There are many benefits to a weekday date, including the fact that weekdays are often not as busy as weekends, and a woman might appreciate a nice time out in the middle of the week without having to sacrifice her weekend. A nice date during a weekday might also turn into an even nicer weekend date sooner than you think. At the same time, weekday dates are often shorter in terms of how long they last, so if things are not going well, you can rest assured knowing it will be over soon.

  • Be flexible when selecting a time, day, and place for a date. Some people lead very busy lives and providing them with choices when it comes to a date might improve the odds that they will say yes to your offer. Always give a woman a couple of dates to choose from, as well as a choice in time for the date. You can also give your date several choices in terms of where to eat. Be careful however, you don't want to come off as a person without a plan by giving your potential date too many choices.
  • Know when it's quitting time. Persistence is good in some aspects of life, but it isn't very attractive when it comes to asking someone out. Showing interest is fine, but coming off like a man obsessed is not going to increase your chances of a "yes" answer.
