1. Don't do anything drastic

One of the big reasons that diets and new work out regimens fail is that it is too much change, too fast. If your body is suddenly pushed into action after a long period of inactivity, it will resist and make it much harder for you to stick to anything. Take it slow and remember that when you do, you have a much better shot of keeping the weight off.

2. Think about hunger.

How often do you eat when you are not hungry? Try eating half of the portion you get in restaurants and taking the rest home.

3. Think about why you are eating.

Chances are, you are not eating just when you are hungry. If you are like many people, you will eat when you are bored, or when you are frustrated or when you are angry. This kind of eating can be extremely destructive, so whenever you start reaching for snack, ask yourself why you are doing in.
